Great Aunty Zara - The Green Goddess

Well, Nat and I arrived back safely from New York today, and the jet lag has taken it’s toll. We’ve done nothing constructive all day. But we did get to take a look at the video footage I shot of Steven and Stacey’s wedding, and to also check out photos already appearing on Flickr and read blog entries about Great Aunty Zara - The Green Goddess.

When the let lag wears off, I’m sure we’ll blog in more detail, and I’ll get to work at doing something with the video content and my Mac video editing capabilities (though I’m new to both).

In the meantime, here’s a small tribute to Great Aunty Zara (requires QuickTime)

The wedding was amazing. The people we met were great!

Antlers in your suitcase

Tomorrow we fly to New York for GastroGrrl’s brother’s wedding. As I’m taking a suit carrier, and baggage allowances are quite strict these days, I thougt I’d best check the ins-and-outs on the Continental Airway’s website. No mention of suit carriers, but at least I now know where I stand regarding taking antlers on board! From their website:

Continental shall not be liable for damage to antlers. Antlers are subject to a $95.00 service charge per item. One service charge applies when smaller antlers are nestled inside larger antlers and strapped together. This charge is in addition to any excess baggage charges that may apply.

Continental Airlines will accept antlers retained as hunting trophies, for travel to/from the U.S. and Canada, provided the following conditions are met:
  • Aircraft size and load conditions permit
  • Antlers must be as free of residue as possible
  • Skull must be wrapped and tips protected
  • Antler linear dimensions (L+W+H) must not exceed 120 inches
Well that’s cleared up then.
